Zina Surova, Russia
born 1982, leaved the Sebastopol Fine Arts School and graduated from the Moscow State University of Printing Art. She is now regarded as one of most important young Russian children’s book illustrators. She uses innovative techniques in her illustrative work In her illustrative work, especially from the field of collage. She took part in the BIB – Biennale Bratislava in 2007, 2009 and 2011, was among finalists of the 1-st CJ Picture Book Festival in Korea in 2009 and won many professional awards in Russia. She creates mainly author’s picture books, and there are often self-initiated projects have been realised in cooperation with Philipp Surov, book designer and her husband. Her books have been published by Trimag, Mann-Ivanov-Ferber, Samokat and other Moscow publishing houses.
