Siguté Chlebinskaité, Lithuania

SIGUTÉ CHLEBINSKAITÉ  (born in Kaunas / Lithuania, 1977) studied graphic art at the Vilnius Academy of Arts, the Prague Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design, and the International Salzburg Summer Academy, and graduated in UNESCO cultural management and cultural policy. She is a member of the organizational committee for the Vilnius International Book Fair and Art Director of the Academy of Arts’ publishing house since 2008. Sigutė Chlebinskaitė defines herself as a book artist: pop-up books, Braille and sign language or hand-made paper are only a few of the formats with which she lends expression to her work. Her artistic approach clearly shows the influence of Eastern European design. Numerous national and international projects and honours reflect her great dedication to promoting literature and reading culture. Among many other awards, she holds the Lithuanian medal for achievements on behalf of culture.
